1. Try some vegan ice-cream at Veganista

When you’re in Vienna you have to go to Vienna’s first fully vegan ice-cream parlour – Vagnista! This is the best place to cool off after a hot day! Not only do they not use any artificial additives and flavourings but all their ice-cream is made fresh EVERY DAY! Some could say that this actually makes ice-cream healthy! We recommend trying their famous ‘inbetweener’. It is a scoop of ice-cream sandwiched between two homemade irresistible cookies! One won’t be enough!


2. Climb to the top of the Danube Tower

  • Location: Donauturmstraße 8, 1220 Wien, Austria

Austria’s highest landmark, with a height of 252 meters, is a popular tourist attraction. It is the perfect starting point for your visit to Vienna. You will be taken 150 meters high to a 360º panoramic platform where you can grab amazing views of the city! There is also an open-air platform where you can zoom in on your favourite landmark or monument. All of this makes it worthwhile to have the Danube Tower on our list of best things to do in Vienna.

How to get there:
The tower sits between two subway stations:

  • Take the U1 to Alte Donau station and then hop on the 20A bus line to the Donauturm stop or
  • Take the U6 to Neue Donau station, then hop on the 20A bus line to the Donauturm stop

3. Giant Ferris Wheel

  • Location: Riesenradplatz 1, 1020 Wien, Austria
  • Hours: Everyday: 10:00 - 19:45

The giant Ferris wheel, located at the start of the Prater amusement park, is one of Vienna’s trademark sights. This 60-metre high Ferris wheel will give you amazing views of the magnificent city!

You can purchase ‘single-ride’ tickets, however, you can also buy combination tickets that will allow you on other Prater attractions. Book your tickets now!

How to get there?
Grab the subway to the Praterstern train station. It will lead you right outside the entrance of Prater park.


4. Visit the Schönbrunn Zoo

  • Location: Schönbrunner Schlosspark, 1130 Wien
  • Hours: Everyday: 09:00 - 16:30

Vienna’s Schönbrunn Zoo is the oldest zoo in the world and has been voted Europe’s best zoo for the fifth time! Here you’ll be able to discover over 700 different kinds of animals! We recommend checking out the panda babies and newborn elephants. They are by far the best animals in the zoo!

5. Badeschiff Vienna

  • Location: 1010 Vienna, Austria

This is by far a popular attraction all year round and great for a group of friends!

During the winter Badeschiff Vienna comprises 4 curling rinks perfect for the ones who are competitive. There is also a bowling alley

During the summer Badeschiff Vienna is a pool right in the middle of the Danube Canal. Nothing beats spending a hot summers day here! There is also a sundeck should you want to work on your tan or simply relax with your friends!

6. MuseumsQuartier

  • Location Museumsplatz 1, 1070 Wien, Austria

The MuseumsQuartier Wien is one of the largest districts for contemporary art and culture. It is open around the clock and entry is free. There are loads to do in the MuseumsQuartier! You can easily spend a whole afternoon relaxing here! There are many delicious food stalls around the area with a beautiful inviting courtyard where you can hang out, relax, and chat.

We recommend trying cafe-restaurant CORBACI as they are perfect for trying Austrian cuisine! Whether it’s for a quick lunch, a long dinner, or coffee and cake in the afternoon. The menu changes depending on the season.
