As the pinnacle of all things music, London is the place to be for gigs and live shows
London has produced some of the biggest legends in music history, bringing us talent like Amy Winehouse, The Rolling Stones and The Clash. It seems fitting then, to put together a list of some of London’s best venues to watch live music:
1. Wembley Arena
Wembley Arena is the place to go for live music this year, having recently undergone a whopping £30 million refurbishment, you’re not going to be disappointed when seeing your favourite artists performing here. We’re talking better seating, great viewing, improved acoustics, increased bar and food outlets, and buckets of space to ensure you aren’t disappointed on the availability front. Wembley has hosted some of the World’s most prolific stars, making it London’s most iconic concert and events venue.
2. O2 Brixton Academy
The O2 Brixton Academy is one of London’s leading music venues for good reason. Brixton played host to some of the World’s leading rock acts before becoming an all-around music venue in 1983. Surrounded by the character and excitement of South West London, you can get your music fix, then continue on to the multitude of bars, clubs and pubs buzzy Brixton has to offer.
3. KOKO
Once home to the amazingly talented Amy Winehouse, Camden Town now has one of the best music venues in London, KOKO. As a former theatre, KOKO is more than a pleasure on the eye, expect a lot of red and lavish furniture, with plenty of amazing seats on offer. Having hosted artists such as The Rolling Stones and Coldplay, KOKO continues to bring a variety of music genres to our doorstep each week.
4. Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club
If you are passionate about Jazz, this is the place to go. Ronnie Scott’s is a real establishment in London, bringing Jazz to London since 1959. You will find it in the heart of Soho in a dark and sexy basement with a late bar. This would be the perfect spot to take a date, with its sultry interiors, low lighting, private tables, and wonderful acoustics.
5. The Royal Albert Hall
The Royal Albert Hall is a concert hall in South Kensington. Since its opening in 1871 by Queen Victoria, the RAH has held some of the most notable events in British culture, whether this is in the form of a banquet, concert ballet, opera or pop concert. The venue itself is enough to entertain you, with such a beautiful and prolific backdrop, you may find yourself distracted from the performance you choose to see.
