Do you plan to travel from the UK to Spain? Then we have some tips and tricks for you!
Cordoba’s history begins in the 2nd century BCE, when it was founded by the Romans and flourished as an important hub for trade and culture.
In the 8th century CE, Cordoba witnessed a transformative period with the Islamic conquest of the Iberian Peninsula, which led to the construction of the magnificent Great Mosque of Cordoba, which later underwent significant changes in the 13th century with the Christian Reconquista, culminating in the capture of Cordoba by King Ferdinand III of Castile in 1236.
The Mezquita-Catedral is an architectural marvel blending Islamic and Christian influences. But the rich heritage of Cordoba goes deeper than the Cathedral – Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, the Jewish Quarter, and numerous museums are here to whisk you on a journey through centuries.

The city is known for its beautiful patios and flowers; not only do they bring joy to your face when passing by the narrow streets while romanticising your life, but there are serious festivals and competitions held that bring thousands of people every year. The Cordoba Patio Festival (or flower festival) is usually held in May and is worth looking into.
Cordoba is a haven for foodies as well, where traditional Andalusian flavours mingle with innovative gastronomic creations, whether it’s fresh seafood, traditional Berenjenas con miel (eggplants with honey), or cold Ajoblanco cordobés (white gazpacho) on a hot summer day!
Note that Cordoba is a pretty walkable city, the roads are also narrow, so renting a bike is a great option!
